30 things i have learnt in 30 years

You will never get to read all the books you want

Some years ago someone gave me a Kindle as a present. I had never liked them because I love real books but I decided to give it a try because I had to commute for two hours a day and I thought it was a good way to carry more than one book everyday without the extra weight.

It turns out it was a good idea in this regard but I also discovered two things. One, how I love to connect different weights, measures and formats to different books. It is like changing worlds every time you change the book you are reading. And two, it's dangerous to separate books from their volume because you tend to forget that each book is time and you feel like you have all the time in the world, just as your Kindle has all the storage space you need to store your books, but you don't. I had never thought about the amount of books I wanted to read until I could carry them with me and I started to realize I couldn't cope with it.

Since I cannot stretch time, I can only pick some of them and enjoy them for the ones I will never get to read.
