A collection of illustrations by Lucia Soto

Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by how strangers’ lives happen around me. As a little girl I would enjoy peeking on other people’s houses and trying to imagine what kind of people they were, what kind of lives they led. A lit window on a plane, a fragment of a conversation coming from a passing car were for me clues to an unsolvable mystery.

When I came to live to London I was instantly bewitched by its colourful doors and the spark of this childlike obsession of mine was suddenly relit. A house door is the frontier between public and private, the entrance to a secret world.

So I began to collect them.
